The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan is seeking applications for a faculty position at the assistant professor level (or higher) starting Aug. 1, 2027. 

1.    Requirements:

(1)    A PhD degree;
(2)    The applicant must demonstrate his/her expertise in earth and environmental science including (but not limited to) environmental chemistry, geochemistry, pollutant fate and transport, environmental analysis, and net-zero sustainability.

2.    Date of appointment: Aug. 1, 2027

3.    Application deadline: Oct. 30, 2026

4.    Application documents:

  • Curriculum vitae;
  • A copy of the PhD diploma and certificates of professional experience (the foreign diploma must be certified by Taiwan’s overseas office posted at the degree-issuing country);
  • A list of publications;
  • Three to five refereed publications with one of them the representative publication;
  • Research statement;
  • Teaching plan and research plan for the next three years;
  • Other supporting information;
  • Three letters of recommendation, including the contact information of the referees;
  • A two-slide summary outlining your academic background, major research achievements, and future teaching and research plans.

Note: Please refer to the CCU Personnel Office and the College of Science websites for detailed information about required documents for faculty appointments. Applicants with foreign degrees are advised to prepare in advance for credential verification and proof of entry/exit dates during the study period.

5.    National Chung Cheng University requires that all new faculty hired after Feb. 1, 2022 must offer at least one course taught in English per academic year.
